12 Tribes Means Different Inter-connective Ways To Be Christ-like.

i had a kind of realization today that God works through people. And rather than having monocultures, or having people all act the same, all grasping onto the same way of doing things, the Almighty is at work through many different ways in everyone's life. We have to come to terms with His love in our own time, and in our own way, but there were 12 tribes for a reason, and each disciple was very different in his and her personality, persona and each had a different relationship with Jesus. i think today i realized that we aren't going to fully understand the interconnectivity of it all, until ultimately we get it explained to us in heaven. What can i do with this information? And how much of an epiphany is this anyway. Well, it gives me the power to forgive with an incredible amount of energy because i don't need to figure out what the other person is working on or how God is working within their life. I just need to make sure that I am working with God in my life. I n...

REPOST: What resources would you most like to see available in Logos?

Original Post:  http://community.logos.com/forums/p/18568/424892.aspx#424892 I have a question which kinda goes with this topic. I'm trying to rationalize purchasing a LOGOS 5 plan, and i don't want to just purchase a whole bunch of material which will either go unread, or keep me from viewing the resources which I am most interested in. I'm loving the idea of the timeline, so at this point i'm looking at either a Gold plan or a Platinum plan. The thing is, i've been researching Apologetics and Patristics with a friend, and am seriously considering purchasing these three sets from Amazon.com; (or have been for over 2 years) - but am closer to pulling the trigger. In everything else, I have switched from purchasing books in print, and have moved to either Kindle, iBooks, Zinio, Kno, or  iTunes-U. I have a Macbook, & an iPad2 to work with.  I've also downloaded Olive Tree, Bible.com's App, and a number of other "free" App versions of Bible ...

Los Angeles Christian Church Culture & Plugging In

I'm trying to plug into a solid Church in Downtown Los Angeles, which is not an easy task. First of all, I'm from Orange County, which is - when you look at it, in many ways, a different culture itself. LA has its districts. It's got it's cool kids, it's ruffians, it's goons, and lest we not forget there are many cultures of different ethnic groups, each with varying degrees of assimilation into what we'll call the monoculture of Los Angeles. Now, just so I don't offend, let me first say that I understand that everyone likes to worship differently, and as a person who cherishes religious pluralism, I want to say that If you like one of the styles of worship I find uncomfortable or distracting, I'm not saying you or your style of worship is wrong or bad or shouldn't have lots of parishioners. But I come from the Non-Denominational and subtle Baptist style of worship, and was looking for similar for what I would find in Orange County. Like Vine...

Gay Adoption: How Much Celebration of Sexuality Are the Kids Privy To?

Many times when I discuss gay marriage, or civil rights in regards to the LGBT crowd, I'm hearing a lot of comparisons to other races of people. In fact there is almost a push from the LGBT community to look at this as though it is racism, and as though gay people are a race of people instead of a group of people who share a preference for a certain type of activity. I do believe that people who identify themselves as LGBT should have the right to marry each other, but there are red flags firing off when that discussion turns towards adoption, and gay parenting. When I ask myself if it's alright for the LGBT to adopt, there is an immediate hesitation, and then a shaking of the head that occurs. Parenting? really? Isn't this something that is uniquely not gay. And by that I mean, the LGBT community is made up of people who chose to live an alternative lifestyle, one where the typical male female intercourse was rejected and instead they decided to go a different rout...

Following Jesus: Through Faith In His Word

Following Jesus: By Loving All Of The TRUTH

Following Jesus: Counting All Else As Loss

Acts 4: 10-12 10 We want all of you and all the people to know that this man was made well by the power of Jesus Christ from Nazareth. You crucified him, but God raised him from the dead. This man was crippled, but he is now well and able to stand here before you because of the power of Jesus. 11 Jesus is ‘the stone 12 Jesus is the only One who can save people. No one else in the world is able to save us.”
