I Believe In The Bible

When criticized for believing in the Bible, and putting my faith in text which has lasted over 3 millennia sometimes I can be taken aback by the slights and disrespect which can come from those who aren't of a faith based mentality.

We see more and more atheism and counter culture pushing an anti-religion with a vengeful fervor. There is this lack of respect for anything sacred. They blasphemy and speak the and of Jesus, as if it were cussing. Not to mention, the disdain. There is a frightfully abrasive disdain for those who believe that homosexuality is a sin, or who look out for the poor and helpless. More so injuring is the person who claims to be Christian, but does not walk the walk. Much of the rage against those who are seen and called the Christian Right is the attributed to the deceit from those professing to be righteous, but acting in opposition the Jesus' teachings, and The Way.

2 Thessalonians 2: 13-17 NCV
13 Brothers and sisters, whom the Lord loves, God chose you from the beginning 14 God used the Good News that we preached to call you to be saved so you can share in the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ.
15 So, brothers and sisters, stand strong and continue to believe the teachings we gave you in our speaking and in our letter.
16-17 May our Lord Jesus Christ himself and God our Father encourage you and strengthen you in every good thing you do and say. God loved us, and through his grace he gave us a good hope and encouragement that continues forever.

Christian Economics

Christian Economics   by Most Rev. Dr. Robert M. Bowman, Presiding Archbishop, United Catholic Church   It is accepted as a given, at least in these United States, that Christianity and Free-Market Capitalism are inseparable. To those on the right, it is an article of faith. "That government governs best which governs least." "Godless Communism." "In God’s order there are no schemes of wealth distribution which under the government forces productive citizens to give the fruit of their labors to those who are nonproductive." (Pat Robertson in  The New World Order , page 228.) Laissez faire, tax cuts, slash government spending, downsize, balanced budget, welfare reform, tax relief, flat tax, deregulation, capital gains tax cuts, eliminate the income tax, disband the IRS — these make up the economic litany of conservative Christians. Capitalism and family values go hand in hand. Even liberals seldom badmouth capitalism. They just want to make it a li

Faith: Small As A Mustard Seed

Matthew 17: 16-21 16  And I brought him to your disciples, and they could not heal him."  17  And Jesus answered,  "O faithless and twisted generation, how long am I to be with you? How long am I to bear with you? Bring him here to me."   18  And Jesus rebuked the demon, and it came out of him, and the boy was healed instantly.  19  Then the disciples came to Jesus privately and said, "Why could we not cast it out?"  20  He said to them,  "Because of your little faith. For truly, I say to you, if you have faith like a grain of mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, 'Move from here to there,' and it will move, and nothing will be impossible for you."

REPOST: What resources would you most like to see available in Logos?

Original Post:  http://community.logos.com/forums/p/18568/424892.aspx#424892 I have a question which kinda goes with this topic. I'm trying to rationalize purchasing a LOGOS 5 plan, and i don't want to just purchase a whole bunch of material which will either go unread, or keep me from viewing the resources which I am most interested in. I'm loving the idea of the timeline, so at this point i'm looking at either a Gold plan or a Platinum plan. The thing is, i've been researching Apologetics and Patristics with a friend, and am seriously considering purchasing these three sets from Amazon.com; (or have been for over 2 years) - but am closer to pulling the trigger. In everything else, I have switched from purchasing books in print, and have moved to either Kindle, iBooks, Zinio, Kno, or  iTunes-U. I have a Macbook, & an iPad2 to work with.  I've also downloaded Olive Tree, Bible.com's App, and a number of other "free" App versions of Bible
