RE: San Bernardino Shooters Confirmed As Islamic Terrorists

This is in response to this Funker530.com article, and the statement made by ZH below. At this point, our president and his team want this anti gun agenda to happen so bad that he's gonna brush this under the rug. This was terrorist attack. I had a hard time sleeping last night because I have a heavy heart. This event was too close to home. Yeah we can pray for the victims but faith without works is dead. We need to take action as well as praying. We want peace, we have to be the first ones to take the steps towards it. War has been waged on American soil. Prepare for what may come. Have a plan with your loved ones in case of a emergency. Get a gun, bat, knife, machete, some type of protection for your household and educate yourselves and your loved ones about your protection. One love fam. - ZH What is terror exactly? And by that definition is the US Government a terrorist organization? At any rate, while discouraging you of thinking all Muslims are barbaric warmon...

I feel like Christian dating is like a Rumspringa in a Sense

I feel like Christian dating is like a Rumspringa in a Sense Original Post is located here:  http://scrip.ly/!245 2 Corinthians 6:14-15 ESV 14  Do not be unequally yoked with unbelievers. For what partnership has righteousness with lawlessness? Or what fellowship has light with darkness? 15  What accord has Christ with Belial? Or what portion does a believer share with an unbeliever? Rebecca from Breaking Amish I wrote this to a woman who was looking for a man who followed Christ online, and never got a response. It was a seriousinquiry, because so often I find that people have basically taken what they like about Christianity, and left the rest. You are beautiful, and super intriguing. That being said, I've said that I think that the only real Christians left seem to be Amish & Mennonite; and although I'm nowhere near living like the Amish, mostly out of fear and a love for tech - I feel like Christian dating is like a Rumspringa ...

I'm Intrigued By RockHarbor and their Alpha Classes

One of the things that is disappointing about Calvary Chapel Costa Mesa, is it is so big, and unwieldy. I find myself getting swallowed up inside of it, and lost in the corners of the big machine. I'm not in a group, and although I have gone to 2 Thanksgiving dinners, and 8 men's meetings, it just seems like i'm still a passer by. What i'm looking for is COMMUNITY. I'm looking for a Church that follows Christ, apologetically, and to the letter, and lives vibrant Christian lives, defining Christianity in a very Biblically inspired, and positive way. Maybe if i get more involved in Calvary Chapel, I can find this. I was really inspired to purchase LOGOS 5 from Calvary Chapel, and their school looks like a great place to send kids, if i ever have any . . . but for me, for now, I think I'm going to check out Rock Harbor Costa Mesa and see if they walk the walk they talk. If memory serves me correctly, the couple that I had a wonderful religious and biblical c...

"The greatest trick the Devil ever pulled was convincing the world he didn't exist."

"The greatest trick the Devil ever pulled was convincing the world he didn't exist." - Verbal Kint (The Usual Suspects 1995) One of the things I find hard about "debating" with Atheists is that they generally will use anononimity when talking points about the evils of society come up. Any "bad man" or "bad deed" committed by an atheist goes without judgement, while they seemingly stand as judge, jury, & executioner of God, Jesus, and anyone who doesn't bend to their school of thought, which they unceremoniously call "SCIENCE". Honestly, It's like arguing with a two year old. MINE. MINE. You just have to sit em in the corner and let time deal with this one. Interestingly enough, politics of some situations renders this nearly impossible. And they all feel they have THE RIGHT to trump card your belief system because they don't believe in angels, or anything bigger than they are. When you get right to i...

Not Congruent: A Response to FB Red Equal Symbol Marriage Equality Profile Picture Protest

Some good points on redefining marriage. I saw everyone changing their FB picture to the red equal symbol, and so I decided to change mine to the "not congruent" symbol. I used white text in a slate black field.  http://s3.amazonaws.com/thf_media/2013/pdf/bg2775.pdf

(REPOST) Fallacies of Atheism

I think it’s time to set the record straight on a number of issues, almost all of them poorly constructed arguments from a poverty of knowledge and lack of research. In other words, putting aside the scientific method to elevate science, or rather atheism. Science and atheism are after all bedfellows, are they not? Well, in the view of the majority of atheists on this site it would certainly seem to be the case. I’m going to quote some pretty eminent fellows here, fellows you should be familiar with; you quote them frequently enough. “Religion raises the stakes of human conflict much higher than tribalism, racism, or politics ever can...  Consequently, faith inspires violence in at least two ways. First, people often kill other human beings because they believe that the creator of the universe wants them to do it.”  - Sam Harris, Letter to a Christian Nation , page 80 “Without religion there would be no labels by which to decide whom to oppress and whom to avenge.... ...

(REPOST) The Effect of Same-Sex Marriage: Should Christians Oppose Gay, Homosexual, or Lesbian Unions?

(REPOST) The Effect of Same-Sex Marriage: Should Christians Oppose Gay, Homosexual, or Lesbian Unions? November 25, 2012,   0  Comments   Edit post The Effect of Same-Sex Marriage: Should Christians Oppose Gay, Homosexual, or Lesbian Unions? Gay marriage and homosexual weddings are being sanctioned or considered by many countries or states. What effects would same-sex unions have on society, on the church, on children, on government and schools, on Christians, and on marriage itself? Should homosexuals and lesbians be granted the right to marry, along with the privileges of marriage? Is homosexuality moral or immoral? Should benefits be given to "domestic partners"? Does the Bible teach that God wants us to accept and tolerate homosexuality? What should Christians and faithful churches believe and teach? Note carefully: No teaching anywhere on this web site is intended or should ever be construed to justify or to in any way incite or encourage personal v...
